Another masterpiece from Apostolos Mountrichas of Avantis Estate, Agios Chronos (meaning “Holy Time”) is a sophisticated and rare expression of the Viognier variety in Greece. While the red version of this label is famous for its Syrah-Viognier blend, the white is a pure, barrel-fermented varietal wine. It features a pale lemon color with golden tints. The nose is complex and exuberant, dominated by ripe apricot, white peach, and citrus blossoms, elegantly framed by notes of vanilla and toasted nuts from 6 months of maturation in French oak. On the palate, it is full-bodied and creamy with a refreshing acidity and a long, fruity, and slightly spicy finish.
