GEROVASILEIOU AVATON 750ml

A majestic and complex blend of three indigenous Greek varieties—Limnio, Mavroudi, and Mavrotragano. Limnio, which was famously mentioned by the 5th-century BC dramatist Aristophanes, leads the soul of this blend. The wine is fermented in special Burgundy oak vats and aged for 12 to 18 months in French oak barrels. It boasts a brilliant deep-red color and an intricate bouquet of ripe raspberries, raisins, coffee, and cocoa. On the palate, the power of its tannins is elegantly balanced by a rich fruit intensity and a persistent, spicy finish.
