Description

Founded in 1902, Bodega Catena Zapata from Argentina plays one of the most essential roles in the ‘resurgence’ of Malbec and in the discovery of new terroir at the foothills of the Andes in Mendoza. The family’s vineyard, ‘Adrianna Vineyard,’ is located at an altitude of nearly 1500 meters and is considered the Grand Cru of South America. Catena Alta Chardonnay ferments in 500 L oak barrels with natural yeasts and at controlled low temperatures. 30% of the blend does not undergo malolactic aging for 14 months in French oak barrels of 1st, 2nd, and 3rd use.
